Mint is an
herb whose leaves have a strong, fresh smell and taste and are used for giving
flavor to food. It is one of the oldest and the most popular herbs that are
grown around the world. There are many different varieties of mint, each having
its own subtle flavor and aroma. Mint is an essential ingredient in many Indian
and Middle Eastern cuisines.

Two easy
recipes of mints :
Mint
Lemonade Recipe: It is a delicious and most refreshing drink recipe.
Ingredients:
10-15 leaves of mints, 1 lemon, 2 Tbsp sugar and 1 glass chilled water.
Method:
· Put the mint leaves into the cup and
muddle for a few seconds using pestle.
· Add sugar, lemon juice and water in a
glass along with crushed mint leaves.
· Stir it well till the sugar totally
dissolved in the water.
Fresh mint
lemonade drink is ready to serve.
Mint Chutney
(Pudina chutney): This chutney has aromatic freshness of mint combined with the
earthiness of coriander (dhania). It is served either with daily meal or with
appetizers/snacks.
Ingredients:
2 cup mint leaves (pudina), 1 cup coriander leaves(dhania), ¾ cup sliced
onions, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 Tbsp sugar, 2-3 green chilly and salt according
to taste.
Method:
- Combine all ingredients and ¼ cup of water in a mixer and blend till smooth.
- Store in an air-tight container, refrigerate and use as required.
Mint face pack for common skin problem:
*Mint face pack for acne:
Grind a cup of mint leaves and add rose water to make a
paste.
Apply this pack on your acne and leave overnight.
This is not only great for the cure and prevention of acne,
it also takes care of keeping your skin cool and oil-free in the summer.
*Mint leaves face mask for pimples and acne marks:
Add mint juice to 1Tbsp of fuller’s earth (multani mitti) and
tomato juice and make a paste. Apply the paste on face to treat pimples, acne
marks, and blemishes. This pack is also used for tan removing.
*Mint leaves for dry and itchy skin:
Grind mint leaves and squeeze the juice out of them to apply on face and the problem parts of body like on wounds, cuts, mosquito bites, etc.. It will
instantly soothe any itching or burning.
Note:
Mint has
side effects if consumed in large quantities. Therefore, the intake of mint
should be limited. During flu mint can be boiled with hot water can this
mixture can be added with tea or coffee, but as soon as the flu is over the
consumption should be reduced.
